The Family Man Season 2 Trailer - Analysed

The Family Man Season 2 Trailer - Analysed

From a "9 to 5" Srikant to a rebel leader played by Samantha Akkineni,  Season 2 promises more thrill.

Finally, after a long wait and many requests from fans, the taut spy-thriller drama directed by Raj and D.K has returned with its second installment. The Family Man Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 4, 2021.

For a little perspective on the show, The Family Man shot to fame with its 2019 debut. The spy-thriller web series made news for its superior acting, editing, screenplay, and storyline.

The Season 2 trailer has gone viral on YouTube garnering millions of views. Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, and Sharib Hashmi return to reprise their roles while Samantha Akkineni makes her OTT debut as, believe it or not - a rebel leader!

The trailer, much like the series till now, is superb. With just enough of the new plot shown, it has created the required suspense. Also, Season 1 ended at a huge cliffhanger which hasn't been addressed in the trailer.

This raises many questions:

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!

1. "What happened to Delhi?"

Moosa after being revealed as a deadly terrorist and the mastermind of the entire plot in Season 1, tampers with the settings in a chemicals factory on the outskirts of Delhi. This poses an imminent threat to Delhi as Moosa intends to turn the capital into a gas chamber and kill people by the millions. But what really happened to Delhi?

The fate of Delhi can only be found in Season 2.

2. "Is Moosa dead or alive?"

After a scuffle breaks out between Moosa and his accomplice at the end of Season 1, we see that both terrorists are lying "dead" on a deserted highway, but is Moosa really dead, or is he just heavily injured.

In the latter case, there a possibility that Moosa is linked to the rebel group shown in the trailer.

and most important of all:

3. "Why is Srikant in a 9 to 5 job?"

The trailer shows Srikant as working in a private sector company. Srikant doesn't socialize much and is not enjoying his job. He is also termed as "the bare minimum" by his reporting manager. What does this mean for Srikant and TASC?

My take on this-

A) Srikant has really quit TASC and is working in a regular "9 to 5" job. Maybe, Srikant wants to improve his family life and save his failing marriage; or

B) The private sector job is just a part of his cover story to carry out his real work as a TASC officer. Seems more likely, doesn't it?

We need to watch the upcoming season to answer this one.

Stay tuned for more updates on The Family Man Season 2!
